He went to the same prestigious Rugby School attended by former UK PM Neville Chamberlain. At the school, he became Head Boy and joined the Blue Bunsen Society due to his skills in chemistry. Outside the classroom, he dazzled at sports like golf and rugby.

Long story short? When The Telegraph interviewed insiders about Rory’s life, they concluded he was “very popular” (especially among female classmates) and considered “quite a catch.”

To understand where Rory comes from, it’s important to understand his family.

His father is a chief executive of Insight Investment Management Limited and his mother works as a qualified accountant. We don’t know their exact net worth, but we know that mom and dad own multiple multimillion dollars homes.

In other words, Rory is very well-off. His own net worth is estimated at $1–2 million as of June 2021.

And he has special royal connections as well. His second cousin Andrew served as the Queen’s Master of Household and even crashed in Buckingham Palace. The Queen made him a member of the Royal Victorian Order before he went to work for Prince Charles.

On top of that family connection, Rory also met Prince Harry when the two were both featured in a video for the Rugby World Cup opening in 2015. But while Rory has some very famous connections, it didn’t take too long for him and Malia to “disconnect” in an unexpected way!

What about Rory’s parents? Malia enjoyed brunching with them at a California resort in July of 2019 and then spent Christmas of that year with his family in London. It looks like things are getting serious for them, and engagement may be right on the horizon for the happy couple!

Engagement on the horizon?

The obvious question right now is when the young couple will get engaged. How likely that is to happen, though, depends on who you ask.

According to the tabloid Globe, Rory already proposed and Malia said yes. But they claim Barack Obama told her it was “too soon” and that he refused to pay for an “elegant English wedding” or even walk her down the aisle!

Later, Globe reported that Malia called off the engagement. But no other journalists could corroborate any of this, and it seems like all of the engagement gossip may be completely fake.

Moving in together

The two may not be getting married anytime soon, but they do have another major activity on the horizon: moving in together!

Assuming neither of them fell behind in their studies, Rory graduated Harvard in 2020 and Malia will graduate in 2021. If the two stay together, they are going to need to find a place to live together. And there is endless speculation about where that might be!

Multiple British publications (including Hello! and The Evening Standard) think that the lovebirds will settle somewhere in England instead of somewhere in The United States. But all of this is only speculation at this point.
