Prince Harry May Have to Ditch Meghan To Be Welcomed Back Into the Royal Family

Just who is Meghan Markle to Prince Harry? To hear Harry tell it, she is the love of his life and someone he was willing to cross oceans and largely abandon his family over. To the Royal Family, though, Meghan has been more like an anchor as she keeps dragging Harry and his reputation down with her various antics and ongoing drama.

Now, some experts are weighing in with a startling forecast: Prince Harry is going to divorce Meghan Markle and be subsequently welcomed back into the good graces of the Royal Family. Who is making these predictions, though, and just how likely are they to come true? Keep reading to discover the answers!

How Meghan drove an early wedge between Harry and his family

You don’t have to be an expert on the Royal Family to know that Prince Harry has a very fractured relationship with his family, most especially his brother, Prince William. However, those who are royal experts have largely come to the conclusion that it was Meghan Markle that drove this wedge between Harry and the rest very early on in their relationship.

According to the Daily Express, royal expert and author Tom Bower pointed out that before Meghan came along, William, Kate, and Harry were the “three musketeers.” He said, “The tragedy, and it is a tragedy, in all this is that until Meghan appeared on the scene Harry and William were very, very close friends.” Furthermore, “They were an extremely happy group, the three of them.”

What happened, specifically, to change all of this? While Meghan was going to turn the “musketeers” into the “fab four,” things “began to unravel as Meghan began saying how she would use her new status to campaign.” He said that William and Kate had to tell the newcomer “that’s not what the Royal Family does” and that Harry was also concerned but ended up going along with it. The result is that Harry “completely cut himself off” from his famous family.

The wedge only deepened with “Megxit”

In the fullness of time, Harry and William could likely have mended fences, especially when their fences were so close to each other. But Harry’s relationship with the rest of the Royal Family became infinitely more strained during “Megxit,” when he and Meghan stepped back from most royal responsibilities and left England altogether, eventually setting up a new life for themselves in America.

This caused a kind of cascade effect: then-Prince Charles financially cut Harry off, reasoning that he shouldn’t have access to the royal coffers if he wouldn’t be attending to many royal responsibilities. Harry and Meghan eventually mentioned this and other dirty royal laundry in an infamous Oprah interview in which they also accused an unnamed senior royal of being deeply racist. Making things worse was that Harry and Meghan signed multiple media deals to maintain their luxurious lifestyles, and they used their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir as platforms to continually smear the Royal Family.

Will Harry have to divorce Meghan to be welcomed back into the Royal Family?

All of that brings us to the present day and a rather explosive prediction from royal expert Jennie Bond. According to OK! Magazine, “Harry, without Meghan, would be forgiven and welcomed back into the royal fold in the fullness of time.” Interestingly, this prediction is tied to the fact that the Royal Family mostly wants the old Harry back.

“I think there is still enough goodwill towards Harry, well, to the old Harry that we all remember,” she said. “He could recoup the ground he’s lost and in time and be welcomed back.” In other words, enough prominent members of the Royal Family want the happy Harry who was the heart of the “three musketeers” back rather than the sullen Harry who seems to mostly take media potshots at his family from across the ocean.

A family expert also thinks divorce is inevitable

It’s easy to be cynical about whether these various royal experts and commentators have much real insight into Harry’s mindset right now. However, someone who was once very close to the family has been echoing these sentiments as well.

That person is Paul Burrell, who was Princess Diana’s former butler and the man she trusted most on this planet. According to the New Zealand Herald, Burrell claimed that, “I have no doubt that…when it does happen then he will return to the United Kingdom and I think his father, the King, and his brother, the Prince of Wales, will both greet him back into the country with open arms.” Burrell continued by echoing the sentiment that everyone wants the old Harry back. “There is an element of Harry we all love, we just don’t understand why he’s doing what he’s doing at the moment.”

Still, even if these royal forecasts come true, don’t expect to see Harry ditch Meghan in the immediate future. Right now, they have multimedia deals to make the most of and children to raise together, both of which are likely to keep Harry away from the UK for a good, long while.
