One of the topics we return to the most is how being a member of the Royal Family is a real double-edged sword. Sure, you’re born into a life of fame and luxury most of us can never dream of, but all that fame also makes you a target for countless tabloid headlines. Therefore, any given royal has to live in constant fear of their reputation getting a royal rocking by a well-timed newspaper article.
That’s something that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know all about. These two have been a constant source of wild headlines as they made the nearly unprecedented decision to step down from royal responsibilities and move to America. Now, they are raising two children, and the wild rumors surrounding those kids have fascinated Royal Family fans all around the world.
Just what are these rumors, and what’s the truth behind them? Keep reading to find out!
Is Meghan worried about Archie seeing King Charles?
You don’t have to be a royal expert to know that there has been some serious beef between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles. In fact, when Harry aired the family’s dirty laundry in the infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey, he accused Charles of financially cutting him off (which would explain all those media deals Harry made when he got to America). Now, there are rumors that Meghan is worried about their son Archie seeing Charles, but not for the reasons you might think.
Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that young Archie is impressed that his grandfather is a king and that Meghan is worried that Charles’ extravagant gift-fiving might fuel that fascination.
“Meghan was worried that a magnificent shepherd’s hut or similar extravagant present will only increase Archie’s growing interest in his royal connections,” he said. “She doesn’t want Britain to become a longed-for fantasy for her son so she had been pushing Harry to insist that his father gets Archie a simple present.”
That may sound like an insanely specific fear. But considering that Charles did get Prince George an extravagant shepherd’s hut, the fear isn’t nearly as crazy as you might think.

Queen Elizabeth may have disliked Lilibet’s name
If you don’t already know, Harry and Meghan decided to name their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, after Queen Elizabeth. Given they were already on the outs with the rest of the royals by then, most assumed this bit of queenly flattery was a kind of peace offering. There are rumors, though, that choosing this name for their daughter may have made the Queen angry with these rebellious royals.
Despite Harry and Meghan’s continued insistence that they asked the late Elizabeth about this name choice, there was a flurry of rumors that they had not gotten permission and that the name choice annoyed the Queen. Variations of this rumor included that the couple didn’t ask for permission so much as tell Elizabeth the name was a done deal.
Again, it’s worth noting that the couple’s story about speaking with Elizabeth ahead of time has never changed. But that sadly did nothing to dispel vicious rumors about Lilibet and her parents from birth.
Did Harry and Meghan lie about Archie’s birth?
Prince Archie is Harry and Meghan’s firstborn child and obviously a source of great comfort and happiness to the family. However, he has also generated a fair amount of controversy from the very beginning. Weirdly enough, the biggest controversy seems to be when he was born and whether the royals lied about that for some inexplicable reason.
According to Prince Harry’s own memoir, Archie was born the morning of May 6, 2019. Just one problem: before the prince revealed this information, Buckingham Palace announced that she had gone into labor that afternoon rather than the morning. Not a huge discrepancy, of course, but enough to make the public wonder whether it was the prince or the palace who was lying (Harry maintains that the palace made the erroneous announcement and that he had nothing to do with it).

Is most of the Royal Family avoiding Harry and Meghan’s kids?
One of the few ways royals are just like the rest of us is that they love babies. Therefore, when royals like Harry and Meghan have very young children, it’s customary to receive visits from fellow royals who want to spend quality time with the new family members. However, there are rumors that the rest of the Royal Family is avoiding Archie and Lilibet…or, at the very least, avoiding their parents.
For example, when Lilibet had her first birthday party, neither Prince William nor Kate Middleton attended. Ostensibly, the reason for this is that they were helping to prepare Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee, but the idea that they couldn’t even spare a quick drop by raised more than a few eyebrows. Combined with the fact that hardly any royals have come to visit Harry and Meghan in America, it’s starting to look like they really are getting the cold shoulder from the rest of the family.
