Sometimes, it’s easy to overlook Princess Charlotte when you think about the Royal Family. One reason for this, of course, is her age: she’s far too young to get involved in any major family drama, so she isn’t gracing headlines like, say, Harry and Meghan are. She’s also (to use Harry’s preferred, somewhat petulant terminology) “the spare,” as her older brother, Prince George, will be the future reigning monarch of England. Therefore, when people do pay attention to the children of Prince William and Kate Middleton, they are more likely to pay attention to George, the future king.
However, people have been paying more attention to Charlotte lately for something other than her royal pedigree. Namely, her height! In recent pictures, she is looking taller and taller. So tall, in fact, that a few cheeky posters on social media have compared her to Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s youngest son, who grew up to be taller than him. Just how tall is Charlotte getting, and how does her height compare to the rest of her famous family? Keep reading to find out!
Princess Charlotte is looking really tall these days

So, why is everybody suddenly talking about Princess Charlotte’s height? The short answer is that it’s getting harder and harder not to notice! Basically, there are a lot of pictures of the Royal Family being posted online at any time. Some of these are posted from official accounts celebrating major milestones, like birthdays and holidays. Others are photos taken of royals at various major events. Accordingly, there are plenty of pictures of Charlotte floating around. And with the most recent pictures, more people are noticing that Prince William’s little girl isn’t so little anymore!
She just turned 11 back on May 2, so this is the time you’d expect to see the young royal experience a height spurt. But it’s still impressive to see, especially when she is posed next to other members of her family. For example, it’s hard not to notice that she’s now reaching her famous father’s shoulders. Considering that Prince William is 6’3, this should give you an idea of how tall Charlotte is. Or maybe we should say how tall she is now, as she’s only going to get taller over time!

She gets her height from Prince William

In retrospect, nobody should be all that surprised at how tall Princess Charlotte is. While there are some other genetic factors in play, we usually get our height most directly from our parents. Tall parents generally produce tall children, with the aforementioned Barron Trump being a great example. As for Charlotte, she comes from appropriately tall stock. As we mentioned before, Prince William hovers over the entire family because he is 6’3 tall. In case you’re wondering, that’s about two inches taller than Harry.
That makes Prince William officially the tallest man in the entire Windsor family. It was only a matter of time before his children started growing taller and catching up to him. It probably won’t be that long before Prince Louis and Prince George are towering over most of the people in their age bracket. But girls tend to develop a bit quicker than boys, and Charlotte (who, again, now comes up to dear old dad’s shoulder) is proof of that.
Catching up to Kate Middleton

Needless to say, Princess Charlotte appears in plenty of pictures with her famous parents. It’s easy to clock how tall she is growing when she stands next to William, the tallest man in the entire family. However, in some ways, it’s even easier to notice Charlotte’s height when she is next to Kate, someone who is much shorter than William. In fact, Kate is about 5’9, a full six inches shorter than her husband.
Accordingly, Charlotte seems even taller when she stands next to her mother. Granted, Kate sometimes adds to her own height with stylish heels that make her look that much taller and more regal. But when she’s in tall heels and Charlotte still looks crazy tall next to her, you just know that kid is going to end up much taller than her mother!

Charlotte will soon loom over her cousins

Obviously, Charlotte isn’t quite as tall as William and Kate. At least, not yet! Given time, she’ll probably be looking both her parents in the eye, and she might even end up looking down on them. In the meantime, she can look forward to something else: looming over her cousins!
Historically, Charlotte has taken holiday photos with Mia Tindall, Queen Elizabeth’s great-granddaughter. Mia is one year older and always appears taller than Charlotte. Last Christmas, though, it looked like Charlotte and Mia were about the same height. Mia comes from a tall family, but her little cousin has now fully caught up to her. As early as this Christmas, Charlotte may very well be the tallest among her various younger cousins!
