Melania Trump Destroys Rumors About Barron’s Search For the Right College

Some people are surprised that Donald Trump was elected president twice. It didn’t really surprise us, though: Trump is one of the most famous people in the entire world. Everything he does or says generates countless headlines and gets people talking. Sometimes, that’s a double-edged sword, though, as Trump’s often controversial actions become pervasive conspiracy theories.

In these instances, it’s sometimes his family that pays the price. For example, Donald Trump’s recent attempts to punish Harvard University have resulted in a specific conspiracy theory involving Barron Trump. And this theory never fully died, despite Melania doing her best to destroy it.

Just what is this conspiracy theory? How did it affect Barron, and what did Melania have to say about it? Keep reading to find out!

Barron Trump’s surprise college of choice

The conspiracy theory we’re discussing involves Donald Trump’s private war on Harvard University (more on this soon). However, the story arguably starts with Barron Trump’s choice of college. After he finished high school, everyone was wondering where the youngest Trump would go to complete his education.

Barron ultimately surprised just about everyone when he decided to go to New York University. After all, his father is a conservative icon, and many still see NYU as a bastion of liberal thoughts and ideas. Nonetheless, Barron decided that this particular institution could best prepare him for the future. And that might have ended the matter…at least, his dad didn’t decide to wage war against a different university altogether.

Donald Trump’s war on Harvard University

Donald Trump’s war on Harvard University began with the college’s refusal to bow down to his very specific demands. Among other things, the president decreed that colleges would have to crack down on numerous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. He also tried to crack down on international student admissions.

Most colleges bent the knee. However, Harvard very publicly resisted Trump. In response, he froze over $3 billion in grants and contracts. More recently, he announced plans to cut an additional $100 million of federal funding to the university.

For better or for worse, this is obviously a fight between Harvard and Donald Trump over (among other things) what they see as the future of education in this country. However, the subsequent controversy has created a conspiracy theory regarding an unsuspecting member of the family: Barron Trump.

A conspiracy theory about Trump’s Harvard grudge goes viral

Remember when we said it was surprising that Barron Trump went to New York University? Well, after Donald Trump began taking punitive measures against Harvard, people began to speculate about his motives. The president has never shied away from trying to strike back at those he perceives as having wronged him. This led to a simple line of thinking: what if Trump had an ulterior motive for his war on Harvard?

Afterward, a conspiracy theory emerged that claimed Barron Trump had applied to Harvard University but that his application was rejected. According to the theory, this is the real reason why his father is so angry with Harvard. While the theory made sense to some due to Donald Trump’s temper, there was never any real evidence behind the theory. Eventually, Melania Trump came forward to try to settle this matter once and for all.

Melania Trump shuts the rumors down

Compared to her husband and even her children, Melania Trump doesn’t make too many public statements. However, she has always been fiercely protective of her son. When rumors began to fly that Barron had been rejected by Harvard, she didn’t hesitate to speak out. And when she spoke, Melania did her best to destroy this strange conspiracy theory altogether.

Speaking to People, Melania didn’t mince words: “Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false.” At the time, the publication also reached out to the university, but Harvard made no statement about whether Barron had applied or not.

Some might hesitate to believe Melania because Harvard declined to comment about Barron applying. However, given that there was never any real evidence behind this conspiracy theory, we’re inclined to believe Melania!

Trump’s Harvard fight may have far-reaching consequences

All of this leaves one major question: why did this conspiracy theory come about in the first place? And the short answer is that many are scared of the potentially far-reaching consequences of Donald Trump’s war on Harvard and cling to conspiracy theories to help things make sense.

For example, Harvard is arguably the most prestigious university in the world, and its researchers are working on a number of projects that could save lives. A tuberculosis researcher confided to the Boston Globe about the frustrations of starting research projects to “just be asked to kill them halfway through the study.”

With any luck, Trump’s not-so-quiet war with Harvard will end amicably. Otherwise, his attempts to quash DEI policies may have consequences that affect all of America and the world at large.
