While attending a House Oversight meeting, Greene took a serious dislike to Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett. During that meeting, Greene hit Crockett with this mean-spirited comment: “I don’t think you know what you’re here for. I think your fake eyelashes are getting in the way of what you’re reading,”

It’s not entirely clear what kind of response Greene thought she was going to get. But Crockett immediately hit her with this devastating reply: “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” That soundbite has now gone viral on TikTok and across social media, serving to constantly shame Greene for her own appearance.

Like many modern politicians, Marjorie Taylor Greene uses Instagram to stay in touch with her constituents. This is really a win/win, as it allows her to talk about politics to a large crowd of potential voters while helping her existing constituents get to know her. With that being said, we were all surprised in September 2023 when she took to Instagram without any makeup on.

She was there to talk about the prospect of a government shutdown and how it would affect common people (and, of course, who they should blame for it). However, it was tough to pay attention to the political discussion after seeing Greene’s very dull skin and sagging face. Considering that this is somebody who tried to attack a fellow politician over her eyelashes, many felt that Greene looked downright sloppy and lazy in this Instagram post.

The thing about Marjorie Taylor Greene is that her greatest strength as a politician is also her greatest weakness. For example, as a loyalist to Donald Trump, she previously gained major political points for her outbursts against liberal opponents. However, her antics have started grating fellow GOP members, which is why she was kicked out of the House Freedom Caucus last year.

The typical narrative about Greene is that many of her colleagues dislike her but fear openly expressing criticism because the woman might unleash her followers on perceived enemies. With Donald Trump seemingly on the back foot after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, it’s possible that Greene’s biggest supporter won’t end up back in the White House. With Greene herself up for re-election in Georgia this year, she may very well end up getting voted out in favor of a politician less prone to childish outbursts.
