“Bennifer” is back in a big way. Seventeen years after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez split, the reunited couple is now getting serious. While previous reports indicated their relationship was “low-key” and they were reluctant to put labels on it, it now seems like things are heating up.
“[Lopez is] 51 and has always put importance on chemistry,” an insider speaking to Page Six said. “She’s wondering how many times lightning can strike.” It seems lightning can indeed strike twice, with a previous report indicating their chemistry is “unreal.”
And while Lopez and Affleck, 48, couldn’t make it work in the past, “She feels like he has grown since they were together,” the source said.
The couple was engaged from 2002–2004 before breaking up when Affleck was 31 and Lopez was 34.
But even as things are getting serious with Affleck, Page Six’s sources said Lopez’s kids are her no. 1 priority. Lopez shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Antony.
“She has to ensure that she is taking her children into account,” an insider said. “They are her priority.”
Like Lopez, Affleck also makes his children a priority. He shares children Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. He was photographed taking Seraphina and Samuel to lunch in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Affleck and Lopez’s whirlwind new romance started in April when they were spotted hanging out together at Lopez’s Los Angeles home following her split with fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
Since then, Affleck and Lopez have been spotted together vacationing in Montana and Miami, where they were seen kissing at a gym.
Most recently, Affleck and Lopez were photographed with their arms around each other Monday night going to Wolfgang Puck’s new restaurant at the Pendry Hotel in West Hollywood.
If lightning has indeed struck twice, will Affleck and Lopez make it down the aisle this time? Lopez’s mother Guadalupe Rodríguez reportedly hopes so!
