Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may not be ready to go public with their relationship yet, but they aren’t exactly hiding it.
In fact, InTouch reports that the pair was spotted on a date at Miami gym Anatomy Miami Beach on Monday, May 24 where they “looked madly in love,” according to an eyewitness. “They even shared a kiss on the gym floor and were super playful with each other between sets.”
The insider reveals they “walked in separately” and “did two different workouts with different trainers” but they “left together.”
Affleck and Lopez’s original relationship and engagement took place from 2002–2004. Speculation of a renewed relationship started in April 2021 when Affleck was spotted visiting Lopez’s Los Angeles home on several occasions, following her split with fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
Since then, sightings of Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, have increased. According to The Daily Mail, they were photographed together in an SUV in early May, reportedly returning from a weeklong vacation at a luxury Montana ski resort.
Now, two weeks later, they’ve headed to Florida together. InTouch reports the pair was spotted at Lopez’s Miami rental property on Sunday, May 23.
Though Affleck and Lopez ended their engagement 17 years ago, it seems they had no trouble picking up their relationship after Lopez’s recent split with Rodriguez.
“They have been in touch here and there throughout the years,” a source told E! News. “Ben reached out to her to see how she was doing and they had dinner together a few times within this last month. It’s natural between them and the chemistry is unreal. They picked up where they last left off and are enjoying each other’s company right now.”
Just how much are they picking things up where they last left off? Page Six reports that Affleck was spotted on Sunday, May 23 wearing what appears to be the same watch he wore in Lopez’s 2002 “Jenny From the Block” music video.
Could this mean that things are getting serious? According to a source speaking to InTouch, Lopez’s mother Guadalupe Rodríguez is “hoping” that “this time, they make it down the aisle.”
“Ben even talked to Jen’s mom, Guadalupe, who’s always loved Ben, and she made him promise that he wouldn’t break her daughter’s heart again,” the insider said.
For now, though, Affleck and Lopez are enjoying their time together and seeing where things lead.
