Bennifer is back, but don’t go putting a label on their relationship just yet.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez made headlines in April when they were spotted hanging out together at Lopez’s Los Angeles home, days after Lopez’s high-profile split from fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, Affleck and Lopez are indeed in a relationship but aren’t ready to go public with it yet.
“Right now they’re going with the flow and making plans to meet up as often as possible, but there’s still some discussing to do before they officially go public,” the source shared.
A few weeks after Affleck was spotted visiting Lopez’s home, E! News reported they spent a weeklong vacation alone in Montana.
“It was Ben’s idea to go to Montana, a place he absolutely loves,” Us Weekly’s source said. “They had a wonderful time there just snuggling up and being together without any pressure.”
So, are Affleck and Lopez getting serious about a long-term relationship again?
“It’s very clear they’ve fallen for each other again in a very intense way, but they don’t want to jinx anything by attaching labels or putting themselves under too much pressure,” the source said.
But while Affleck and Lopez are taking things slowly, the insider predicts they’ll go Instagram official soon. “When the time is right and assuming things continue to evolve romantically between them, likely a month or two, they’ll probably go Instagram official or step out hand in hand at a restaurant somewhere.”
Lopez is reportedly taking it slow with Affleck in order to protect her children. “Jen’s kids had such a sweet connection with Alex, who really doted on them and was a model stepdad,” the insider said. “They’ve had to adjust to this new dynamic of him not being around anymore, and Jen is reluctant to spring a new special someone in her life on them right away. So that will be phased in slowly, for sure, but eventually you can count on her wanting her kids to meet Ben.”
Lopez has 13-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9.
Lopez and Affleck were engaged from 2002–2004 before splitting up. Within months, Lopez married Marc Anthony in June 2004. She later revealed after her breakup with Affleck she had “sought out comfort in another person,” according to her 2014 memoir True Love. “It felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest,” she wrote of her split with Affleck.
Now, she and Affleck have a good thing going again. “They really like this low-key, romantic and sexy vibe they’ve got going on,” Us Weekly’s source said.
