Contrary to popular belief, it’s not always easy being the King of England. Sure, Charles was born into a family of immense wealth and privilege, and that made growing up far easier than it was for most kids. However, now that Charles wears the crown, he has to measure everything he says and does with the knowledge that he’s the walking, talking representation of England.
For the most part, Charles has avoided making too many waves, allowing him to be a perfectly dignified head of state. Clashing with the future king
You might expect King Charles and Prince William to always be on the same page. Not only are they father and son, but they are, respectively, the King of England and the future King. And when you get right down to it, the historical function of the royal family has been for sons to carry on the traditions of their fathers.
However, it sounds like “tradition” is the very thing these two are beefing over. Royal expert Omid Scobie told Newsweek “Despite being fed those lines or the briefings about father and son working in lockstep with one another, we’ve seen father and son on completely different paths at times, with completely different views on things.” Scobie went on to claim that William is more interested in modernizing the monarchy but that Charles insists on preserving old traditions for as long as possible.
It’s an interesting debate they seem to be having over the role of the Royal Family and its future. However, there may be another, far shallower reason they are beefing: as royal expert Clive Irving explained to Express, Charles is allegedly annoyed that the public likes William more than they like him!

Dealing with the embarrassment of Prince Andrew
Right now, the most embarrassing member of the Royal Family is Prince Andrew thanks to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein. Any kind of association would be bad enough on its own, but Andrew’s associations led to a highly publicized trial (later settled out of court) where Virginia Giuffre alleged that Andrew raped her when she was an underage victim of Epstein’s sex trafficking.
Publicly, Charles hasn’t said anything about the conflict with his brother, but privately, it seems like he is quietly trying to kick the disgraced prince out of his home. For years, Prince Andrew has lived in the expensive Royal Lodge, but he stopped serving as a working royal once the Epstein connection became public knowledge. Charles could always help foot the bill, but a source told the Daily Mail that the king doesn’t want to do that: “[Andrew]’s not being explicitly kicked out but it’s expected that he won’t be able to afford the maintenance.”
Another source was far blunter, telling the publication “It feels as though his brother wishes to evict him.” Some feel this is Charles simply trying to streamline the Royal Family, something he has spoken of several times before. Others, however, see this as Charles’ way of trying to make his embarrassing brother simply go away.
Charles has very messy drama with Prince Harry
Among those who hate Meghan Markle, there is a general narrative that she came along and completely upset an otherwise perfectly happy relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry. However, thanks to some of the dirty details Harry dropped in both his bombshell Oprah interview and his memoir, we know that these two have been fighting over many different issues for a good, long time.
According to some royal insiders, Harry’s memoir has deepened the feud between the two men, though what angered Charles the most about his son’s revelations may surprise you. Sources with insider knowledge told Us Weekly that the King didn’t necessarily care what Harry said about him but hated what Harry said of Camilla. “Charles harbors a lot of anger towards Harry,” the insiders said. “He’s always been very protective of Camilla.”

Beefing with his sister
Compared to his relationship with Prince Andrew, Charles seems to get on with his sister Anne much better. It helps, of course, that she hasn’t created any scandals, especially nothing as bad as hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein. Nonetheless, Charles and Anne fight over certain issues, and the most surprising of these is their differing views on farming.
Surprisingly enough, Charles has always been very progressive when it comes to issues such as environmentalism and farming. He’s all about organic food and the need to live sustainably with the world around us. Anne, however, is a big believer in genetically modified crops, especially because they can be so useful in very specific environments.
These two always keep their debates on the issue both civil and private. Still, it’s weird to know that something as simple as Charles’ opinions on farming can turn into yet another family feud.
