Gossip Girl was full of clever wit, snarky soul, and some truly captivating performances. But since the show’s last episode premiered back in 2012, you might have lost track of some of your favorite celebs from the show.
You might be sad that we won’t be getting new episodes, and who knows if that HBO Max revival will be any good. But as Blair might remind us: if you’re going to be sad, why not be sad while discovering where the Gossip Girl cast is now?
Leighton Meester
For many fans of the show, Leighton Meester’s character Blair Waldorf was an absolute scene-stealer. Her character’s legacy includes many memorable quotes, but what has Meester herself been up to lately?
She recently displayed her amazing comedic chops on the ABC sitcom Single Parents, which debuted in 2018 and ran for two seasons.
Behind the scenes, she enjoys an amazing marriage with Adam Brody. They welcomed a baby girl named Arlo into their lives in 2015 and a baby boy in 2020.
The couple has not publicly revealed their son’s name yet. But in October 2020, they joked to People that they were going to call him “Joe Biden” up until the election.

Penn Badgley
On Gossip Girl, Penn Badgley portrayed the character Dan Humphrey. In the series finale, we find out the big secret that Dan has been the titular “gossip girl” all along (with occasional help)!
Lately, Badgley has impressing the hell out of fans starring in the psychological thriller series You on Netflix.
He also underwent some major changes to his personal life in the years since “Gossip Girl” went off the air. Badgley married Domino Kirke (sister to “Girls” star Jemima Kirke) in 2017, and they welcomed a baby boy together in August 2020.
Chace Crawford
Obviously, no CW series is complete without a bit of eye candy. And on “Gossip Girl,” that serious responsibility was carried out by Chace Crawford and his character Nate Archibald. But was he able to channel those pretty boy looks into a solid career?
All signs point to yes! In recent years, he has starred in films such as Eloise and All About Nina. On TV, he appeared in ABC’s “Blood & Oil.” But his meatiest role has been playing The Deep, a disgraced hero seeking redemption on the breakout Amazon show “The Boys.”

Blake Lively
Blake Lively helped captivate legions of fans with her character Serena van der Woodsen. And while her roles have been a bit low-profile since Gossip Girl wrapped up, she has still stayed quite busy with appearances in movies such as A Simple Favor, Age of Adaline, and The Shallows.
However, jealous men and women all over the world would say her biggest accomplishment was marrying Ryan Reynolds back in 2012. The two now have three lovely daughters, and Blake gets to be the only one in the world who can say she’s married to Deadpool.
Sebastian Stan
It feels like a lifetime ago that Sebastian Stan guest-starred on Gossip Girl. He was in the show for only 11 episodes during the first three seasons, but he made a serious impression on fans with his portrayal of the character Carter Baizen.
It’s pretty easy to see what Stan has been doing in more recent years. One year after his last Gossip Girl appearance, he starred as Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger. He appeared in later MCU films as Bucky’s alter ego the Winter Soldier, and received praise for his dramatic performance opposite Margot Robbie in I, Tonya.
Stan’s star continues to grow, as the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on March 19.

Kristen Bell
Kristen Bell’s famous face didn’t grace any Gossip Girl episodes except for a brief cameo near the end of the show. Mostly, she served as the voice of the gossip girl in question, winning fans over with an effortless blend of snark, sarcasm, and genuine insight.
In recent years, it seems like Bell has done a little bit of everything. Not only did she marry her sweetheart, Dax Shepard, but she gave voice to the character of Anna in Disney’s Frozen and Frozen 2.
If that wasn’t enough, she also headlined the NBC sitcom The Good Place, one of the most refreshing and innovative comedies in the modern era of television.
Hilary Duff
It was surprising for fans when Hilary Duff appeared on Gossip Girl for a brief stint in season three. After all, she was a household name thanks to the success of her show “Lizzie McGuire.” But “Gossip Girl” leaned into this fact and cast Duff as an imperious Hollywood star with romantic designs on Dan.
What has happened with Duff since then? She ended up marrying Matthew Koma. She has a daughter named Banks with him, born in 2018, in addition to her son Luca, born in 2012, from her previous marriage to hockey star Mike Comrie. And in October 2020, she announced she is pregnant again.
Professionally, Duff is knocking it out of the park with her series “Younger.” But she did break some fans’ hearts by confirming there would be no revival show for “Lizzie McGuire.”

Jessica Szohr
Part of what made “Gossip Girl” so special is that it helped launch a few Hollywood careers. For example, this was the show that helped put Jessica Szohr on the map. And since the show ended, she has had a variety of roles in movies and TV shows.
In film, she has had roles in movies such as The Internship, Two Night Stand, and Ted 2. On television, she has appeared in Shameless, The Orville, and Kingdom.
And as for romance, she is currently dating hockey guru Brad Richardson. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, into the world in January 2021.
Ed Westwick
On Gossip Girl, Ed Westwick portrayed the character of Chuck Bass. After the show wrapped, he had several different roles. Fans could catch him in the TV show White Gold or movies like Romeo & Juliet (2013) and Wicked City (2015).
Unfortunately, Westwick’s offscreen life has been far more controversial than any of his acting roles. The Los Angeles Police Department investigated the actor in 2017 after sexual assault allegations were made against him. He denied the allegations, and one year later, the Los Angeles Country District Attorney decided against prosecuting the actor.
