Critics often take potshots at Donald Trump and his family. Those critics might be surprised to learn that Trump and his family are very highly-educated… with one interesting exception. How far did each Trump make it in school? This guide has the complete lowdown.
Donald Trump
It’s important to start at the very top. So, when it comes to Donald Trump, what does his education really look like?
Donald is actually an ivy-league grad, having completed his education at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, largely considered the top business school in the country. He only went there for two years, though, having completed his first two years of education at Fordham University.
Exactly how great a student Donald was is up for debate. Some critics assert that his UPenn admission was due to an admissions officer who was a friend of the family. And despite claiming to have one of the world’s highest IQs, Trump has worked very hard to hide his educational transcripts from the public.
Whether he was a great student or not, though, no one can take Trump’s ivy-league education away from him.
Melania Trump
Now you know about Donald Trump’s educational progress. But what about his wife, first lady Melania Trump? For her, the answer depends on whom you talk to.
A 2016 issue of GQ asserted that she spent a year at a Slovenian university before dropping out. But a government website would later claim she graduated with a degree in architecture and design.
So, what’s the truth? Later in 2016, Melania clarified that the government site info was incorrect, and it has been removed from the website entirely. It seems like she really did only complete a year of college before pursuing a career in modeling.
Ivana Trump
While they mostly go to good schools, most of the Trump clan limit their education to an undergrad degree. However, Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump managed to take things above and beyond.
Ivana went to Charles University in Prague years before she met Donald. There, she eventually earned a master’s degree in physical education.
Granted, she doesn’t exactly need to use her physical education degree after walking away with $14 million from her divorce with Donald. But it’s pretty cool just how dedicated she was to advancing her education.
Ivanka Trump
As a student, Donald and Ivana’s daughter Ivanka Trump faced an important decision. She was from a famous family and had her future more or less assured before college started. So, was she going to be a party girl or a really serious student?
By all accounts, she really threw herself into her studies. She studied at Georgetown for a couple of years before following in Donald Trump’s footsteps and transferring to the University of Pennsylvania.
Her classmates remember her as “poised,” “prepared,” and “nice.” She managed to avoid the temptation to constantly party and earned a solid degree in economics. However, her brother Donald Trump Jr. didn’t handle temptation as well as she did….
Donald Trump Jr.
Like several other Trump children, Donald Trump Jr. ended up at the University of Pennsylvania. He even went to the Wharton School of Business like his father did. However, while Junior graduated with a degree in real estate and finance, it looks like his real major was “partying.”
One of Junior’s former classmates (Scott Melker via Facebook) described him as a stumbling drunk who hurt himself while drinking and even passed out frequently in public. And while he didn’t confirm any salacious details, Junior later confirmed that he spent much of his university time drinking and partying.
Eric Trump
Were you starting to wonder if any of Donald Trump’s children were going to skip the University of Pennsylvania? You can stop wondering: Donald’s second son Eric Trump ditched the family alma mater and attending Georgetown University.
While he liked to blow off steam with the occasional lavish trip, Eric Trump seemingly avoided the drunken shenanigans of Donald Trump Jr. This may have been easier because he blended in: according to Eric, almost no one connected him with the Trump family. This meant he could snag his degree in finance and management in relative peace.
Tiffany Trump
Both as a businessman and as president, Donald Trump has become very familiar with plenty of lawyers. But what if he could have an awesome lawyer as part of his family?
Donald Trump’s youngest daughter Tiffany Trump (from his second marriage to Marla Maples) is the family member who has been the most under the radar since Donald became president. She has managed to keep herself very busy: she completed a double major in sociology and urban studies at University of Pennsylvania in 2016.
After that, she enrolled at Georgetown Law in 2018. And while she’s still in school, it looks like she is destined to be one hell of a lawyer.
