For many married couples, infidelity is a dealbreaker. When one spouse gets busted for cheating, it almost always leads to divorce.
However, there are some celebrity couples that buck the trend and actually stay together after a major cheating scandal. Who are they? We’ve got the breakdown on celebs who stayed married after having affairs.
Cardi B and Offset
Cardi B and Offset’s marriage was nearly destroyed thanks to both infidelity and technology. When Offset’s phone was hacked in December 2017, fans discovered he was cheating on his wife Cardi B with another woman. What followed was a “will they or won’t they stay together” whirlwind.
Instead of splitting up, it appeared the pair reconciled. In January 2018, fans noticed Offset had tattooed Cardi’s name on his neck. The following month, Cardi told Cosmopolitan she didn’t care about the criticism she faced for staying with him, though she admitted what he did was “not right.”
“It’s like everybody is coming down my neck like, ‘Why are you not leaving him?” she said. “But I want to work out my s*** with my man, and I don’t got to explain why.”
But the drama didn’t end there. In September 2020, Cardi filed for divorce, calling the marriage “irretrievably broken.” Then, in a surprise twist a month later, Cardi and Offset were spotted in public together celebrating her 28th birthday.
She told fans on Instagram Live, “I just be starting to miss [him]. It’s hard not to talk to your best friend,” and officially called off the divorce in early November.
However, Cardi left her legal options open to refile the divorce at a later date by having the case dismissed “without prejudice.” So, this might not be the last we’ve heard of Cardi and Offset’s divorce drama!

David Boreanaz and Jaime Bergman
With long-running roles on Buffy, Angel, and Bones, David Boreanaz is one of the most famous faces in the world. Unfortunately, this makes him a unique target for extortion attempts.
While the actor married Jamie Bergman in 2001, he later had an affair with a mistress. In turn, his mistress demanded money in order to keep the affair quiet. Instead, Boreanaz admitted the affair to Bergman and then went public with what happened.
He told People in May 2010, “I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money.” By admitting his mistake to the world, Boreanaz ensured his mistress had no power over him. Bergman ended up forgiving him, and the two emerged as a stronger and more stable couple.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have always played by their own rules. It should be no surprise that this philosophy extends to marriage scandals as well.
When rumors first started swirling that Jada had an affair with a singer and songwriter named August Asina, many fans were furious. They thought she was a homewrecker sneaking around behind her husband’s back. She eventually clarified things on an episode of Red Table Talk, her Facebook Watch series, in July 2020
According to Jada, she was trying to help Asino and it blossomed into something more. And with Will by her side, she said, “We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out a way to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy.”
She clarified she didn’t see it as a transgression and that her marriage to Will is still strong. The pair joked, “We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life,” referencing Will’s movie Bad Boys for Life. Married since 1997, the pair remains one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting high-profile couples.

David Letterman and Regina Lasko
David Letterman and Regina Lasko have been together a long time. They were dating way back in 1986, but didn’t get married until 2009. But their belated “happily ever after” was threatened in the same year of their marriage by a major cheating scandal.
Letterman’s former mistress Stephanie Birkitt kept detailed notes of their affair, and former CBS producer Robert ‘Joe’ Halderman tried to use copies of these notes to blackmail Letterman for $2 million. Letterman sidestepped this attempt by admitting to his affair on his own show and pledging to make things up to his wife.
He said (via CNN), “She has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it.” Apparently, it worked: the couple is married to this day.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z
Since their marriage in 2008, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have basically defined the term “power couple.” But after Bey dropped lyrics on her hit 2016 album Lemonade album like “He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair” and “If you try that s*** again / You gon’ lose your wife,” her fans suspected her husband cheated on her.
In 2017, Jay-Z finally confirmed this in an interview with T Magazine. Therapy helped him discover childhood issues that made him “shut down all emotions” and eventually led to infidelity. But therapy and a very patient spouse helped this power couple stay together.

Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton
In some ways, Bill Clinton had the most public cheating scandal of them all. His affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky was the stuff of international news, and his denial “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” quickly became part of the cultural lexicon.
Clinton’s infamous phrase was legally correct but morally wrong, especially in the court of public opinion. But Hillary Clinton never left during the scandal or Clinton’s impeachment, and she continued to support him many years later. When CBS Sunday Morning asked her in 2018 if her husband should have resigned in the wake of the scandal, she said “Absolutely not” and even denied that the affair was an abuse of his power as president!
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
Kevin Hart and his wife Eniko Parrish endured a particularly challenging attempt involving extortion and a naughty video. Fortunately, they emerged from the incident stronger than ever.
In September 2017, one of Hart’s friends tried to extort him with video evidence of an affair he’d had with a woman. The worst part was, Parrish was eight months pregnant at the time the scandal broke.
Hart immediately took to Instagram and started making apologies. “Sending so many apologies to my wife and kids. I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect and have never claimed to be… I love you all.”
Ultimately, his marriage survived because he and Parrish saw this as a challenge to overcome instead of a marriage-destroying moment.
As Hart later told People, every marriage faces tests. “Sometimes those tests come from stupidity. But it’s how you handle it, and how you decide to move forward from it.”
The couple are still together, and even discuss the affair in the 2019 Netflix documentary series Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up.
