A temper tantrum goes viral
These days, Charlotte has matured into a very regal young girl, one who seems more than ready for the royal responsibilities ahead of her. However, that hasn’t always been the case. When she was only two, she took a trip to Hamburg with her famous parents, and a series of photos helped capture her having an absolutely royal meltdown on the tarmac as they all returned to the plane.
It’s always mortifying for a parent when their child is having a very public freakout. However, Kate didn’t let this moment linger, lifting Charlotte up and soothing her. In her mother’s arms, it didn’t take long for Charlotte’s temper tantrum to become a thing of the past.
Learning to love soccer
Normally, a love of soccer is something you’d associate with the male members of the Royal Family, including Charles and William. It’s possible that the love of this sport is hereditary, though, as Charlotte has become quite the soccer superfan in recent years.
Part of what fuels her passion is, of course, sibling rivalry. She apparently has played many games against her younger brother George, and he loves to say he’s better than her whenever he scores. Apparently, William uses these moments to remind the young man that Charlotte could become as good (if not better) at the sport. This helps the future king establish his feminist bona fides even as it encourages his daughter’s passion for this sport.

Charlotte takes after her mother
While Charlotte didn’t have any more public temper tantrums like before, she does have the occasional spirited moment, like when she kept making faces at the King’s Cup Regatta in 2019. However, these juvenile moments seemingly became a thing of the past once she turned six years old. Coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally), that was when she began to take after her mother more and more.
A royal photo helped mark Charlotte’s sixth birthday, and fans immediately noticed that her sharp facial features now looked more like Kate Middleton’s. Their hair differed in color, though, with Charlotte’s more golden locks echoing William’s hair from his own younger days. Nobody could deny it anymore: this regal young girl was clearly destined for greatness.
Taking after the queen, too
From her facial features to her status as a fashion icon, it’s clear that young Charlotte takes quite a bit after her mother. However, the older the young princess gets, the more it’s clear that she also takes after Queen Elizabeth.
That resemblance to the late, great Queen was particularly obvious during the 2023 Christmas service at Sandringham. At this event, Charlotte wore a green coat and black tights that made her seem like a carbon copy of a young Elizabeth. The resemblance went more than coat deep, too, with attendees noting that Charlotte had the easygoing social manners and effortless elegance that Elizabeth was famous for.

Living out every girl’s dream by meeting Taylor Swift
If you just look at Charlotte’s evolving wardrobe and manners, it’s easy to imagine that she is incredibly mature for her years. Every now and then, though, we get a reminder that she still has some of the passions and interests of any other young girl. Perhaps the best reminder of this was when this princess of England met the princess of pop: Taylor Swift.
Both wealth and family connections likely helped Prince William secure tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. He took both George and Charlotte, and the royals were able to meet Swift herself after the performance.
