Even if you didn’t vote for him, it’s easy enough to see the appeal of Donald Trump as a politician. Instead of standing on policy, Trump usually stands on insults, inventing one hilarious nickname or turn of phrase after another to describe his opponents. This has previously turned presidential debates into verbal sparring matches that are easier (and more entertaining) to follow than any deep debates on policies or procedures.
Needless to say, Trump has invented plenty of insults for once and future opponent Joe Biden. Historically, Biden hasn’t really slung insults, seemingly embodying Michelle Obama’s mantra of “if they go low, we go high.” However, Biden has recently started taking potshots at Trump’s weakest spot: his appearance.
Honestly, Joe’s jibes are funnier than we imagined. Don’t believe it? Keep reading to learn all about Joe Biden’s funniest insults about Trump’s appearance!
Trump’s history of insulting others’ appearances
Before we dive into Joe Biden’s most hilarious dunks on Trump’s appearance, it’s important to remember that Trump himself transformed these kinds of insults into mainstream politics. It wasn’t really that long ago that it was wildly rare for one politician to openly insult another, but (for better or for worse) Trump changed all that.
For example, back in 2015, Trump had to beat out a crowded field of contenders for the Republic presidential nomination, including Carly Fiorina. During a Rolling Stone profile, Trump openly attacked her appearance, saying “Look at that face!? Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!”
Marco Rubio also felt the heat, with Trump nicknaming his shorter opponent “Little Marco.” This is something to keep in mind when reading Biden’s insults towards Trump. Some of these insults are pretty mean, but let’s face it…nobody deserves to get trash talk directed their way more than Donald Trump.

Calling out Trump’s unnatural hair color
Sometimes, Joe Biden’s insults of Donald Trump’s appearance seem very off the cuff, which is pretty funny. These prove that Biden, just like Trump, spends time thinking about what he’d like to say to his opponents. And both men love directing their sick burns of each other at relatively sympathetic audiences.
For example, he made a campaign stop in North Carolina where he actually addressed Trump frequently comparing his own body and mind to Biden. When Trump does so, his intention is clear: despite both men being very close in age, he wants everyone to see himself as strong and healthy and Biden as weak and deficient. As for Biden, he seems unfazed, quipping to the crowd “I’ll be happy to compare physical characteristics with Donald Trump. Granted, I don’t have his orange hair.”
Biden’s bleach burn
Donald Trump’s hair is an obvious point of vanity for the man. It’s not surprising, then, that it’s a frequent topic of Joe Biden’s insults. While the orange hair crack before was pretty funny, we’ll never forget the time that Biden did a two-for-one insult that mocked both Trump’s mane of hair and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As reported by The Recount, Joe Biden really brought his inner Dark Brandon when speaking at the 2024 North American Building Trades Unions 2024 Legislative Conference. While there, the president rhetorically asked “By the way, remember when he was trying to deal with COVID, he suggested, ‘Just inject a little bleach in your veins?'” With perfect comic timing, he delivered the punchline. “He missed. It all went to his hair.”

Calling the (golf) shots about Trump’s health
Another way that Joe Biden has gone after Donald Trump is by attacking the former president’s hobbies. For example, everybody knows that Trump is a very avid golfer. In response to numerous Trump attacks claiming that he is frail and weak, Biden decided to call Trump out in a very public way that involved his favorite hobby.
Biden took to Twitter to throw down the gauntlet. “Donald, my offer to play golf still stands,” he tweeted back in March. “I’ll let you take three strokes off your game if you carry your own bag.” It’s not hard to read the sneer in the message, with Biden implying that Trump doesn’t have the strength or stamina to even carry his own bag.
Biden dunks on his opponent’s mind as well as his body
While Biden has mostly focused on insulting Trump’s body, he makes the occasional exception to mock his opponent’s mind. As an example, Biden appeared at the annual Gridiron Dinner and dropped quite the zinger. According to Politico, he quipped “One candidate is too old and mentally unfit to be president. The other is me.”
Again, in an older race against a different opponent, Biden attacking someone’s mental health would seem completely out of pocket. But since Trump literally levels these kinds of insults all the time, this seems like completely fair game for the incumbent president. And if we’re being honest, the part of us watching these verbal jabs can’t help but sit back, eat some popcorn, and wait to see what Trump comes up with in response!
