The first trailer for Prince Harry and Oprah’s mental health documentary series The Me You Can’t See has been released, featuring a bevy of celebrities and everyday citizens discussing their mental health struggles, including Harry and Oprah themselves.
“The telling of the story… being able to say, ‘This is what happened to me,’ is crucial,” Oprah says in the trailer.
“The results of this year will be felt for decades,” Harry adds.
Other celebrities speaking in the trailer include Lady Gaga (using her real name Stefani), Glenn Close, NBA players DeMar DeRozan and Langston Galloway, public speaker Zak Williams, Olympic boxer Virginia “Ginny” Fuchs, and celebrity chef Rashad Armstead.
Footage of the late Robin Williams also appears in the trailer, as well as brief appearances by Meghan Markle wearing a “Raising the Future” T-shirt and playing with her and Harry’s son Archie.
Harry revealed in a recent interview on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard that he wants to “break the cycle” of pain and suffering passed on to him by his father Prince Charles.
“He’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?” he said. “And here I am. I moved my whole family to the U.S. That wasn’t the plan but sometimes you’ve got to make decisions and put your family first and put your mental health first.”
Harry also revealed that moving to the U.S. has left him and Meghan feeling “more free.”
“Living here now I can actually lift my head and I feel different,” he said. “My shoulders have dropped, so have hers. You can walk around feeling a little bit more free. I can take Archie on the back of my bicycle. I would never have had the chance to do that.”
Harry and Oprah’s six-part docuseries The Me You Can’t See premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 21.
