The internet has been ablaze lately with the news that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West are considering a divorce. But what added fuel to the fire was the rumor that they are getting divorced because Kanye West has been having an affair with beauty guru Jeffree Star. Now, Jeffree Star himself has addressed the rumor, saying it is false.
Rumors of the alleged affair started on Wednesday when TikTok star Ava Louise released a video in which she claimed, “Kanye’s been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru, male beauty guru, a lot of people in the scene have known for a while.”
Internet sleuths quickly deduced that this “beauty guru” must be Jeffree Star, who has often discussed that his own home in Wyoming is very close to Kanye’s. The rumor might have died very quickly, but Star managed to add some fuel to the fire.
When Drama Alert’s Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem texted Star for comment on Wednesday, Star simply wrote, “I’m having the best time in Wyoming, come visit sometime!” Keem posted a screenshot of this exchange to Twitter, which made many fans think Star was being deliberately evasive.
Further fueling speculation, Star tweeted a photo Wednesday with the caption “I’m ready for Sunday service.” This seemed to reference Kanye’s music group Sunday Service Choir.
It didn’t take long for Twitter users to create countless memes and jokes about the supposed relationship. Star found many of these funny and liked the posts, but some fans saw these “likes” as a confirmation of their relationship.
After everyone had their fun, Star uploaded a video to YouTube on Thursday to firmly deny the rumor. In the video, he jokingly said, “Let me just say this one time for any news outlet: I like very tall men.” This is a reference to the fact that Kanye West is only 5’8″.
Star went on to say, “Me and Kanye have never hung out, and this whole thing is really funny. I guess if this is a start to my new year, happy new year!”
This will hopefully put the rumors to rest, though Star couldn’t help but joke about what may have started all of this.
