Emma Watson Reportedly Retires From Acting

At only 30 years old, Emma Watson has spent most of her life as one of the most famous faces in the world due to playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. Now, she is reportedly retiring from acting altogether.

This report comes from The Daily Mail. And that publication received a comment from Watson’s agent that her career is now “dormant” and that she doesn’t intend to take on any new roles.

Watson herself has not directly commented on the matter, but the report seems to line up with her recent actions. For example, after wrapping filming on Greta Gerwig’s Little Women in 2019, Watson did not join the rest of the cast for the press tour.

While Watson did attend that movie’s premiere, nobody really knew if she was unhappy with the production after refusing to help with the press for the movie. In hindsight, however, it looks like Watson may have already been pulling back from the world of acting.

What will Watson do after retiring from acting? Some think she will take on new challenges and take her life in new directions. Others simply think she wants to spend more time with her boyfriend (and rumored fiancé) Leo Robinton.

Regardless of what Watson does next, we’re pretty confident about one thing. It is sure to be nothing less than magical!

Updated on Feb. 26: Emma Watson’s manager at Untitled Entertainment, Jason Weinberg, has responded to reports, claiming Watson is not retiring. “Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
