Could this be what Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were discussing over lunch last week?
At last night’s third listening party for West’s highly-anticipated 10th studio album Donda, West and Kardashian staged a mock wedding. Kardashian walked out onto Chicago’s Soldier Field wearing a Balenciaga Haute Couture wedding dress and appeared with her estranged husband during the final song of the night, “No Child Left Behind.” Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February.
Kardashian and West’s mock wedding took place following a stunt where West (wearing a fire-resistant suit) set himself on fire inside a recreation of his childhood home. He emerged from the house and a stagehand put out the flames with a fire extinguisher.
Among the other publicity stunts at the livestreamed Apple Music event were appearances by rapper DaBaby, who was dropped by festivals following homophobic remarks he made in July, and rocker Marilyn Manson, who faces allegations of sexual abuse from over a dozen women.
Despite assurances from West’s manager that Donda would release following the event and an Apple Music listing that stated an Aug. 27 release date, Donda is nowhere to be found. An iTunes listing now says that the album, which has been delayed multiple times since July, is “expected” on Sept. 5.
West’s other antics this week include petitioning a court to have his full name legally changed to the mononym “Ye.”
