Blac Chyna’s Trial Against the Kardashians Has Been Fast-Tracked

Page Six reports that Blac Chyna’s trial against the Kardashian-Jenners has been fast-tracked and moved up by six weeks. Originally, the trial was scheduled for Nov. 29, 2021. The trial is now set for Oct. 18, 2021.

According to her lawyer Lynne Ciani in a statement to Page Six, Chyna is “thrilled” that her day in court is coming sooner rather than later.

Chyna, 32, whose real name is Angela White, is suing her ex-fiancé Rob Kardashian, 34, his mother Kris Jenner, 65, and his sisters Kim Kardashian, 40, Khloé Kardashian, 36, and Kylie Jenner, 23.

Chyna filed the lawsuit in October 2017, alleging assault, battery, and domestic violence claims against Rob, with whom she shares daughter Dream Kardashian, 4.

She is also suing for defamation and economic interference related to her 2016 E! reality show Rob & Chyna, which lasted one season. She alleges that the Kardashian-Jenners are responsible for the cancellation of the show, causing her significant financial damage.

The Kardashian-Jenners’ attorney Marty Singer denies these allegations and maintains that Chyna and Rob’s reality show was canceled simply because the couple broke off their engagement.

However, in February three appellate judges found that Chyna had submitted “substantial evidence” regarding her claims of defamation and economic interference, agreeing with a previous trial judge’s ruling and allowing the suit to proceed to a trial by jury.

The center of Chyna’s economic interference claims revolves around Kris Jenner. Chyna alleges that Jenner lied about Chyna attacking Rob’s face and then leveraged this lie to get Rob & Chyna canceled. She is seeking millions of dollars in damages.

“Chyna also proved that, although Kris Jenner was the ringleader for the plot to get Season 2 of Rob & Chyna canceled, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner each separately defamed and intentionally interfered with Chyna’s contract for Season 2,” Ciani told Page Six in February, explaining why other members of the family are named in the lawsuit.

Of course, there is still a chance that this matter won’t go to court. There is currently a post-mediation status hearing scheduled for July 26, giving the parties involved ample time to resolve things before the 10-day trial kicks off in October.

It’s not immediately clear if either side is interested in mediation, though. It looks like we may have to wait until the end of October to see how this plays out.

And there is still the issue of Chyna’s other lawsuit against Rob for posting illegal revenge porn photos of her on social media in July 2017. That matter is set to go to a separate jury trial in November 2021.
