In an attempt to share her love for her husband over Valentine’s Day, Kaley Cuoco inadvertently suggested her previous relationships were “boring” in an Instagram post. This caused her former The Big Bang Theory co-star and ex-boyfriend Johnny Galecki to hit back with the perfect response.
It doesn’t look like Kaley Cuoco set out to hurt anyone. All she did was honor her husband Karl Cook with a cute Instagram post. The post reads, “Happy 5 years to the weirdest person I know! I don’t remember a moment before you entered my life.. what a boring life that must have been! I love you.”
It’s not a very shocking statement. Many who find their soulmate express similar ideas that their lives didn’t truly begin until they met their current partner. But that doesn’t mean ex-partners like Johnny Galecki have to take things lying down!
Galecki and Cuoco actually dated for two years, from 2007–2009. Because of this, Galecki responded to her post with one word: “Um.”
In turn, Cuoco had her own simple response to that comment: “LOL.”
Fortunately for fans, it seems these two are just playfully bantering instead of actually feuding with one another. When they were dating, they did a fairly good job of keeping their relationship private. Ironically, their offscreen romance helped influence the relationship between their onscreen characters, who ended up getting married in the 10th season of the show.
In 2010 Cuoco told CBS Watch, “It was a wonderful relationship but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together. We were so protective of ourselves and the show and didn’t want anything to ruin that.”
Cuoco and Galecki remained close friends after the breakup, though Cuoco is convinced that The Big Bang Theory showrunner Chuck Lorre wrote additional romantic and sexual scenes into scripts to tease the former couple.
After the breakup, Cuoco had some whirlwind romances, including a marriage to professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting in 2013 after just three months of dating. They divorced in 2016, and Cuoco began dating equestrian Karl Cook later that year.
They married on June 30, 2018, but have had an unconventional marriage living in separate houses for almost two years. Cuoco revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live they finally moved in together last April so they could be together during the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This quarantine has actually forced us to move in together, it’s been great for our relationship,” Cuoco said. “And we like each other, we realized! Which is even better.”
Despite their unconventional relationship, Cuoco’s Instagram post shows the reality of just how much they love one another.
