Angelina Jolie Reveals Why She Lives 5 Minutes Away From Brad Pitt, Poses in New Photos With Her Children

Angelina Jolie is opening up about healing after her painful split from Brad Pitt. In a new interview with British Vogue, she reveals she bought a $25 million mansion in Los Angeles just five minutes away from Brad Pitt for the welfare of her children.

“I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away,” she said.

The healing process has been a long one for Jolie, 45, who filed for divorce from Pitt, 57, in September 2016. Jolie admits it’s been “a pretty hard few years” in the interview (via The Daily Mail). But she also reveals that her happiness is “slowly coming back.”

Jolie and Pitt were married for two years and in a relationship for 12 years. The divorce filing took place after reports of an incident on a plane in which an intoxicated Pitt got into an argument with Jolie, and an alleged altercation took place when their oldest adopted son, Maddox, then 15, jumped up to defend his mother.

Following the incident, Jolie was granted temporary custody of their six children: Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12. Pitt was granted visitation rights with a court-appointed therapist.

In 2018, Pitt gained temporary summer custody of the children, and that fall, he was granted less than 50% custody. Pitt is still fighting for equal joint custody. The divorce is still ongoing, although Pitt and Jolie have been declared “legally single.”

Despite the ongoing divorce, Jolie says she and Piit are “in a better place” now.

“I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.”

After a rough few years, Jolie seems optimistic about the future.

“I’m looking forward to my 50s — I feel that I’m gonna hit my stride in my 50s. Though, we were on the trampoline the other day, and the children said, ”No, Mom, don’t do that. You’ll hurt yourself.” And I thought, ‘God, isn’t that funny?'”
