Celebrities Sharing Makeup-Free Selfies During The Pandemic

It’s easy to get a bit cynical about celebrity beauty. When staring at beautiful celebrities, you might think that they only look so good because they are surrounded by a team of stylists, trainers, and makeup artists.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a few celebrities are actually putting that theory to the test by posting makeup-free selfies. They are bravely baring all, sharing themselves without makeup and focusing on what really matters during the pandemic.

Wondering how your favorite celeb is looking during quarantine? Here are photos of celebrities and their makeup-free selfies!

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson looks quite different without her makeup on. However, she used social media to quickly reminder people there is more to her celebrity than just her pretty face!

She posted an Instagram video with musical tributes to the late, great Kenny Rogers. With this fearless performance, she joins the legions of artists finding ways to share their craft with the world during the pandemic.

Zoë Kravitz

Shakespeare wrote that “brevity is the soul of wit.” And one person who has seriously embraced the Bard’s advice is Zoë Kravitz!

In addition to posting a naturally beautiful selfie, she added a naturally amusing pun: “self(ie) quarantine.” While she also encouraged fans to stay inside and stay safe, we appreciate her witty command of social media.

Dakota Fanning

It’s pretty natural for celebrities to discuss important topics with fans via social media. And in Dakota Fanning’s case, she encouraged her fans to stay safe during the pandemic.

Fanning posted a video of herself sans makeup and taking her temperature. Furthermore, she captioned it with an encouragement for fans to “STAY HOME” and “STAY HEALTHY.” If enough people follow this advice, maybe we can get back to our normal lives sometime soon.

Kaley Cuoco

Since The Big Bang Theory ended, Kaley Cuoco hasn’t been in front of the camera that much. In fact, she’s mostly done voice work as the titular character in the DC Universe Harley Quinn cartoon.

However, she’s been using quarantine time to share many photos of herself without any makeup. And with pet cuddles like that, we can only assume she doesn’t care what fans have to say about her appearance!

Katy Perry

People everywhere are noticing dramatic changes in their appearance. With no access to stylists or gyms, it’s taken only a few weeks for some of us to become unrecognizable.

Katy Perry commented on this by posted pre- and post-quarantine pictures to showcase her wild transformation. She has a sense of humor about it, though, telling fans she’d be spending her spare time watching American Idol episodes she had previously recorded.

Helen Mirren

Fans of celebrities are like a small army unto themselves. And the best celebrities find ways to use that army for good.

Helen Mirren really exemplifies this. She posted a selfie she took as soon as she woke up and requested that, in exchange, for fans to donate to intensive care support. This might be the most beneficial use of “bedhead” in history!

Nina Dobrev

You might not think that Nina Dobrev and Kaley Cuoco have much in common. But it turns out they are both some serious animal lovers!

Best known for her role on the CW’s The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev posted this awesome natural selfie to Instagram. She also demonstrated humor and wit by captioning the image “Quarantini 4 lyfe.” Her post is a nice reminder for us to use this time and enjoy the little things.

Vanessa Williams

Many people are sad that they can’t throw parties during quarantine. However, the lack of a birthday party isn’t slowing Vanessa Williams down!

She posted the above image with a caption that read, in part, “Good Morning 57!” To celebrate being another year older, she bravely posted an image with no makeup, no filter, and plenty of love and wisdom for her legion of fans.

Ciara and Russell Wilson

Birthdays aren’t the only events that are a lot quieter during quarantine. Many couples are now unable to go out and celebrate important anniversaries.

R&B star Ciara and her husband Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson are an example of such a couple. Ciara has posted a number of makeup-free videos, and the focus of one was to celebrate meeting her future husband five years ago. Thanks to social media, her digital celebration will last forever.

Kesha

Generally speaking, celebrities have a reputation for being out of touch with other people. Once you reach a certain level of wealth and fame, plenty of people simply assume you can’t keep it real anymore.

Kesha seems to be an exception to this rule. In addition to showcasing some adorable freckles, her caption included a plea with her fans: “Any tips u have on feeling normal?” Like Kesha, we’d do just about anything to feel more normal these days!

Nikki Bella

It’s a sign of maturity to transform obstacles into opportunities. And that’s exactly what former wrestler Nikki Bella has been doing during quarantine.

She is currently pregnant, and that has caused blemishes on her cheeks. Instead of lamenting this, she posted a natural selfie and expressed appreciation for life “without all the beauty appointments and makeup everyday.” During quarantine, she hopes “we can start to love ourselves more.”

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade

Gabrielle Union is basically the standard bearer of natural selfies during quarantine. She posted the above pic with her husband, former NBA player Dwyane Wade, with the simple caption “Couples in quarantine be like…”

Her tone made it sound like she was being ironic and self-deprecating. But no one can deny that Gabrielle looks absolutely fabulous without her makeup on.
